Tea in the 2000s

Tea in the 2000s

In the early 2000s connoisseurs had a wide range of teas to choose from. Renewed interest in the art of tea drinking and the emergence of small New Zealand companies specialising in boutique teas allowed tea drinkers to depart from the customary, undefined black tea and try anything from smoky lapsang souchong to jasmine flowers. Anna Salek started loose-tea company Tea Total in Auckland in 1995. She is pictured with some of the 140 different teas produced by Tea Total.
