One-man band

Bob Jones, leader of the New Zealand Party, is shown here speaking to an audience of 3,000 in 1983. Behind him sit members of the party’s steering committee. Jones, a prominent businessman, founded the party in 1983 to take support away from the National Party in the 1984 election.
