Story: Police

Rachel Nickerson, a crime scene attendant with the Auckland police, brushes a glass panel for fingerprints in 2006. As well as carrying out examinations such as this at crime scenes, Police Forensic Services examine documents, firearms and electronic equipment for evidence of crimes. It can call on three specialised laboratories to test for drugs, poisons and blood–alcohol levels, and analyse physical evidence such as paint and fibres.
