Sunrise on Hikurangi

The summit of Hikurangi (1,752 m), the highest peak on the coast, and the sacred mountain of Ngāti Porou, sees the sun before lower-altitude locations. This photo was taken early on a winter morning from the ranges west of Hikurangi.
