Sylvia teaching at Whareorino, 1932

Sylvia Henderson takes a reading class outdoors at Whareorino, south of the Marokopa River on the North Island's west coast. After her marriage, her husband taught in sole charge schools in Taranaki, while Sylvia raised her young children. However, as this photograph suggests, she continued to do some teaching.
