St Luke’s Lutheran Church, Norsewood

St Luke’s Lutheran Church, Norsewood

This view of Norsewood includes the Lutheran church built in 1882 (centre) and the Junction Hotel (top right). The great Norsewood fire of 1888 destroyed the church and many of the other buildings, but luckily the pub was spared from the flames, and residents found shelter there. After the fire another Lutheran church was built, the replacement having a tall spire rather than the solid square tower of the original.
