Transitioning in Thailand

Transitioning in Thailand

Like many New Zealand transgender people, Noeleena Lochhead of Waimate travelled to Thailand for gender reassignment surgery in order to transition. Her 33-year marriage was annulled but she remained on close terms with – and living in the same house as – her former wife. However, she said their three children 'have been put through the hell of losing their father and there has been some grieving'.
