A view of William Fox's Westoe estate, Rangitikei, by Edith Stanway Halcombe

A proficient artist, Edith Stanway Halcombe had a keen interest in recording her surroundings, and continued to do so after her marriage in 1863. As a young couple the Halcombes leased Westoe, the estate of William Fox, and this watercolour probably dates from that period.
