Wairoa Mongrel Mob headquarters

An Armed Offenders Squad officer stands outside the Wairoa Mongrel Mob headquarters in November 2003 as police search the premises. The search was prompted after a man was fatally shot following a gang brawl outside the Wairoa courthouse. This approach to gangs is termed suppression.
