Rangiriri trenches (2nd of 2)

Rangiriri trenches

Part of the Rangiriri has been preserved, and the remaining trenches and banks show how impressive the fortification was. The pā remains are in a historic reserve beside State Highway 1, half a kilometre north of Rangiriri township, which has a small cemetery with the graves of some of the British soldiers who died in the battle.
