Wintec buildings

Wintec buildings

The Waikato Institute of Technology (Wintec) grew out of the Waikato Technical Institute, established in 1968. On its central-city campus, the Gallagher Hub (top), which includes a library, computer and study facilities, and events and recreation rooms, is the most modern building. The oldest is the former Hamilton Technical College building (bottom), which dates back to the 1920s. In 2010 this was being redeveloped to house the Waikato Chamber of Commerce, Opportunity Hamilton and similar organisations, as a way of forging links between Wintec’s courses of study and local businesses.
