The pupils at this school in Auckland do not pay to attend the school. Gross domestic product (GDP) figures include the value of such services together with goods and services bought in the market-place. In the absence of a market price, non-market services such as schooling are valued at their cost of production, including the salaries of the teachers and the cost of the buildings and grounds.
