Tisdalls’ Auckland store

Tisdalls’ Auckland store

In 1889 William Henry Tisdall opened his fishing and hunting store in Lambton Quay, Wellington. The family-run business also set up stores in Auckland and Palmerston North. Tisdalls closed its shops in 2007 due to competition from larger chain retailers such as Kathmandu and Rebel Sport, and the high cost of inner-city leases.
