Te Puea Hērangi

Te Puea Hērangi (centre), stands outside a Land Development Scheme house. Te Puea was one of Āpirana Ngata’s main allies in the Land Development Scheme in the Waikato area. The scheme was run throughout the North Island to assist Māori to profitably use their fragmented lands.
