Nashi pear

Nashi pear

Small volumes of Asian or nashi pears (Pyrus pyrifolia) are grown in New Zealand, mainly in the Waikato. Resembling apples more than pears, nashi have crisp, juicy flesh and a subtly sweet flavour.
