Emergent rimu

Emergent rimu

A mature rimu towers above a rainforest canopy at Deep Cove, Fiordland. Rimu is easily recognised by its light olive colour and drooping branches. It was heavily milled from some regions in the past, and its timber mainly used for building houses.
