Peacekeeping in Bougainville: travelling in convoy

Peace on Bougainville was maintained by peacekeepers drawn from Pacific nations rather than a United Nations mission. New Zealand initiated peace talks in 1990, and contributed to the South Pacific Peacekeeping Force (1994), the Truce Monitoring Group (1997–98) and the Peace Monitoring Group (1998–2003). Shown here is a Peace Monitoring Group convoy.
