Carisbrook, Dunedin’s legendary rugby ground, was in the limelight during a Ranfurly Shield challenge, particularly in the late 1940s, a golden age in Otago’s rugby history. Here men, women and children line up to get tickets prior to a shield challenge from Southland on 31 July 1948. Otago won the game 25–nil.
