Boom conditions in Queenstown through the 1990s and 2000s attracted workers but also made the town a costly place to live, as this 2002 video suggests. The Queenstown Lakes Community Housing Trust was established in 2006 to help address the issue, which persisted despite a drop in house prices from 2008.
