Story: Oceanic fish
In a school, mahi mahi males are distinguished by their blunter heads. Also known as dolphinfish, this species lives near the ocean surface. They are subtropical, only seen in northern New Zealand waters in summer, when they are sometimes caught by anglers. Once a fish is landed, the vibrant green, yellow, blue and other hues fade as it dies.
