Story: Ocean currents and tides
Anglers use tide tables to anticipate changes in currents, which often affect fish-feeding behaviour. Fishing trips can be timed to coincide with where the fish are at particular times. Because high and low tides vary along the coast, the tables are printed for major ports. Small corrections are listed for minor ports, which are added or subtracted to give accurate tide times.
