Picking fruit, Kerikeri

Picking fruit, Kerikeri

Fruit growing is a major part of Northland’s horticultural industry. Citrus, kiwifruit, tamarillos and avocados are grown, particularly in the Kerikeri area. The biggest company there, Kerifresh, employs seasonal workers, including backpackers, locals and Samoan temporary contractors, to harvest the crop in late autumn.
