Sightseeing boat tours have operated at the Bay of Islands since the 1920s, when tourists joined the regular ‘cream trip’ – the launch service to the bay’s scattered islands to pick up cream from the dairy farms. Now a range of tours are offered, including Fuller’s Dolphin Adventures (right). The passenger ferry that runs between Paihia and Russell is at far left.
