Sewer under construction, Ōkahu Bay, 1910
Against the objections of Ngāti Whātua, a sewer was constructed in front of the community at Ōkahu Bay in 1910. This was not Ngāti Whātua’s final defeat. In 1952 the last inhabitants were evicted.
