Motutaiko
Tamamutu and his great-grandson Rangituamātotoru were major Ngāti Tūwharetoa chiefs in the 17th and 18th centuries respectively. They established a stronghold on Motutaiko, the island in the middle of Lake Taupō. Rangituamātotoru was buried there.
