Signing deed of settlement
At Pariroa pā, Pātea, in 2001 Ngāti Ruanui and the Crown signed a deed of settlement after the Waitangi Tribunal found that the Crown had breached the Treaty of Waitangi through killing and confiscation in Taranaki.
