Story: Ngāti Porou
As this whakapapa (genealogy) shows, Ngāti Porou has strong links to its neighbour on the north-west, Te Whānau-ā-Apanui. Apanui Ringamutu, the tribe’s founding ancestor, is also descended from Porourangi.
