Story: Ngāi Tūhoe
This is a view of the Waimana Valley in the north-eastern part of the Urewera region. The mist and the mountains are of great significance to the people of Ngāi Tūhoe. They say Te Maunga (the mountain) and Hine-pūkohu-rangi (the mist maiden) produced Pōtiki, an important ancestor.
