Story: Ngā waewae tapu – Māori exploration
The Kurahaupō, one of the early exploring canoes, is known to many tribes. This mural shows it arriving in New Zealand, together with a taniwha (supernatural creature) which guided it. The painting is in front of the meeting house on Te Hotu Manawa o Rangitāne marae.
