Story: Ngā Rauru Kītahi
The Pai Mārire (Hauhau) faith was a Māori resistance movement which gained many followers, including some members of Ngā Rauru, during the wars of the 1860s in Taranaki. The illustration shows, from top to bottom, the personal standards of Pai Māirire leaders Te Ua Haumēne, Tītokowaru, and Te Peehi Tūroa.
