Story: New Zealand species overseas
The New Zealand mudsnail flourishes so well in Europe and North America that it is regarded there as a serious invasive pest. The snails can survive for some days out of water and are being inadvertently spread from stream to stream by trout fishermen. This poster, published by the US Fish and Wildlife Service, lists ways that people can prevent the snails spreading into uncontaminated streams.
