Story: Mountaineering
Mountaineering required specialised equipment such as boots with nails on the soles to grip into the snow. The small pair in the middle of this collection of hobnail boots belong to Lucy Mannering, wife of Guy Mannering, arguably New Zealand’s first serious mountaineer.
