Surveyor examination, 1905

After the surveying system was centralised, a national qualification was set up for surveyors. Here, Archibald Bogle establishes a baseline as part of his practical examination, having completed his time as a field cadet. Bogle went on to serve twice as president of the New Zealand Institute of Surveyors, in 1931–33 and 1955–57.
