Story: Marutūahu tribes
Hotunui is the great meeting house of the Hauraki peoples. Built as a marriage present by the Ngāti Awa tribe, Hotunui once stood at Pārāwai near Thames, where this photograph was taken. It is now held at the Auckland Museum.
