In the 1880s Arthur Yates founded seed merchant companies in Australia and New Zealand that specialised in producing vegetable and flower seeds for home gardeners. The companies also produced informative garden guides, such as this garden annual that celebrates the vegetables and fruits that can be grown by the home gardener.
