Touring bands (1st of 3)

Pioneers in the era of Māori show bands, the Maori Hi Five played numerous styles and proved very popular. After establishing a reputation in Wellington in the 1950s, they went to Australia and later to the USA where they worked in clubs and casinos. They are shown here at the Embassy Club, London, in 1961.
