Story: Manawatū and Horowhenua region
The archaeologist Leslie Adkin (1888–1964) made many expeditions in Horowhenua. This 1932 sketch map drawn by him is of the northern end of Horowhenua lake, and shows sites of pā, canoe landings and other centres of activity.
