Manawatū and Horowhenua social profile, 2001

In 2001 proportionately far more people in Horowhenua were aged 65 and over than in Manawatū. There was also a higher proportion of Māori, and people lived on a lower median income. Rural Manawatū district had a much higher proportion of non-Māori than either Palmerston North or Horowhenua.
