Story: Kūmara
This aerial shot shows stone rows at Waikekeno, in the Wairarapa. There is ongoing debate about why the rows were formed. Some believe the stones were removed from the soil so it could be used for agriculture. Maybe the rows acted as boundaries or windbreaks – or were actually used as gardens.
