Paik Jae Sung and Chang Yu Jin

Paik Jae Sung and Chang Yu Jin

Paik Jae Sung and Chang Yu Jin lived in South Auckland in the early 2000s. They had first seen the country in 1996 when their son attended Papakura High School. When Paik lost his job in Korea following the Asian financial crisis, both he and Chang yearned for the peace of South Auckland. As Paik explained, ‘After retiring … we decided to emigrate to New Zealand for more improved quality of life … My main reason is that it’s very clean and quiet.’
