Stone rows, Wairarapa

These stone rows are at Okoropunga in the Wairarapa. The rows are in groups known as stone row systems and are generally parallel. In some cases they mark boundaries, in others they were probably gardened as the soil in the rows tends to be warmer and better for cultivating plants like the kūmara.
