Kirsten Veysey moved to Melbourne to become a freelance makeup artist in 1989. For the majority of New Zealanders the first step overseas is the three-hour flight across the Tasman Sea to the ‘lucky country’, Australia. While younger people go in search of work, many retired people leave for the warmer climate.
