Castaway depot on Curtis Island, 1917

The castaway depot on Curtis Island was photographed in 1917 after German naval captain Count Felix von Luckner and his crew of escaped prisoners of war broke in and took the stores. The caption written on the photograph says, ‘Curtis Island depot as the Huns left it’.
