Contemporary cladding
Since the early 1990s corrugated iron has made a comeback as a cladding material. Here it is used in an apartment block in central Wellington. The modern material, produced by New Zealand Steel, is more resistant to rusting and corrosion than older varieties, and some architects have enthusiastically adopted it as a relatively inexpensive cladding.
