Story: Introduced animal pests
The trunk of this tree fern has almost been worn through by pigs – they have rubbed their tusks and tough skins against it. Such trees and logs are often covered in mud, as pigs wallow in mud holes to rid themselves of lice and other parasites before enjoying a good scratch against a tree.
