Story: Insect pests of crops, pasture and forestry
There is an enormous variety of both free-living and parasitic nematodes. They live in fluid, such as the moisture surrounding soil particles, in the roots or stems of plants, or in insects and other animals. They are very numerous; a square metre of pasture 10 centimetres deep has several million nematodes. These soil nematodes are less than 2 millimetres long.
