Gustami Suwitoputro (left), a batik artist and wood carver, Bambang Atmaja, a dancer and Adi Munardi, a painter, are shown here with music students Marie Direen and Tri Sutrisno at Victoria University of Wellington in 1999. While many students return on completing their studies, inevitably some have found jobs in New Zealand or married Kiwis.
