Story: Hōiho – horses and iwi
This page from the Māori-language newspaper Te Wānanga on 7 December 1878 mentions horses several times – including an article about races at Pakipaki, an advertisement for servicing of mares by a stallion named Terenga, and notices about a horse found in the Horohoro area and three horses lost near Foxton.
