Sketch of Ōmarunui pā, 1860s (2nd of 2)

This sketch shows the site of the battle of Ōmarunui (on the Tūtaekurī River, near present-day Napier) after it had been won by government forces. It includes natural landscape details, the location of European farms, the positions of government and opposing Māori forces during the conflict, and the spot where retreating Māori were captured once the was abandoned.
