Story: Hawke’s Bay places

Waimārama Māori Tourism

Waimārama Māori Tourism

Waimārama is home to one of the most successful Māori businesses in Hawke’s Bay. Waimārama Māori Tourism (WMT) runs tours and corporate team-building events at the 15th-century Te Hakakino reserve in Te Apiti Valley, which remains in Māori ownership. The reserve is also home to a native plant nursery and working farm. Conserving the area’s natural environment is a particular concern of WMT.
